Join us as a guest crew member aboard the Wanderbird as we reposition the vessel from Greenland to St. Pierre. We will spend a few days exploring the glacier & iceberg laden coast of Greenland before sailing across the famous Davis Straits towards wild and beautiful Labrador. We will cruise south along the coast of Labrador and voyage into the Straits of Belle Isle, past the coast of Newfoundland. This is a true offshore passage. You'll have the opportunity to stand watch, navigate with the captains, track ocean weather forecasts & experience day to day sailors life. This is a unique opportunity to experience a real taste of "life at sea" and to learn offshore trawler skills and navigation from highly experienced professional mariners on a well found little ship.

Space is limited to 8 like minded shipmates who are easy going, friendly, polite, and of course, very adventurous! You will meet us at the waterfront docks in Aasiaat, Greenland. You must posses a true sense of adventure, and a willingness to experience this re-positionining of the ship in varied weather conditions as we cross various multiple Straights and seas! We want those of you who join us to be fully prepared for the culture and climate in which we will be travelling. Good books, a knitting project and cross word puzzles are a "must have" on repositioning cruises. You will disembark at the historic French fishing colony of St. Pierre, a picturesque island situated at the entrance of Fortune Bay, which extends into the southern coast of Newfoundland, near the Grand Banks.

Join us as a guest crew member aboard the Wanderbird as we reposition the vessel from Newfoundland all the way to Maine. We call this a Tramp Steamer Cruise in the spirit of the bygone era of coastal ferries and commercial ships that offered simple accommodations for adventurous guests as they delivered cargo & goods to remote coastal villages.
You will meet us at the fishing wharves down at the Port aux Basques waterfront. On this cruise you’ll have the opportunity to stand watch, navigate with the captain, visit interesting ports such as: a remote Newfoundland outport community, Cape Breton Island, our home in the tiny village of TorBay, Lunenburg and Shelburne Nova Scotia as time and weather permit. Next we will make our crossing of the Bay of Fundy/Gulf of Maine where we are sure to see migrating whales and have avian hitchhikers aboard. We will finish our cruise in our home port of Belfast Maine.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a real taste of life at sea and to learn from highly experienced professional mariners on a well found little ship. Space is limited to 10.
